Established in 2008, KSE selected Botswana Power Corporation’s operating environment as the foundation for its regional expansion, with Botswana serving as the group’s operational and administrative headquarters. Today, KSE operates subsidiaries in Botswana, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa and provides services throughout the African energy market.

The company’s origins are linked to the Tuten Group, whose founders have been active in power project development for over 30 years across Africa and the Middle East. Building on this experience, KSE has developed strong capabilities in both plant operations and power project implementation.

KSE’s activities are built on two core pillars:

• O&M Excellence – Delivering reliable power plant operations with a strong focus on operational risk mitigation and high asset availability.
• Enabling Expertise – Supporting project development, EPCM services, construction management, installation & commissioning, and flexible fuel supply solutions including ssLNG.

KSE currently manages and supports a Sub-Saharan African fleet of approximately 700 MW, consistently achieving plant availability exceeding 98.5%. The company’s flagship asset management role includes a 90 MW dual-fuel gas/diesel power plant at the Debswana Orapa diamond mine in Botswana, operational since 2010.

With a multinational workforce that is approximately 85% locally sourced, KSE combines international technical expertise with strong local capacity building. The company maintains extensive in-house maintenance capabilities for gas turbines, steam turbines, and reciprocating engines, supporting both planned and unplanned outages, major inspections, and engine exchanges.
